Houston Training 50th and NAMMA Awards
The North American Maritime Ministry Association invites you to an anniversary celebration marking 50 Years of training maritime chaplains and ship visitors at the annual Houston training program.
Since 1974, the Houston International Seafarers’ Center has hosted an annual chaplain and ship visitor training course in partnership with NAMMA and Stella Maris. The course has welcomed more than 530 students from maritime ministries in North America and around the world. These students form the backbone of hundreds of seafarers’ welfare charities and a network of support.
NAMMA recognizes excellence in the provision of seafarers’ welfare. Our Distinguished Service Award recognizes annually those who have shown significant leadership over many years in local or national contexts. This year we are pleased to recognize Fr. Sinclair K. Oubre, Stella Maris, Diocese of Beaumont and Sharon Emerson, Corpus Christi Seamen’s Center.
Please join us for the celebration. Registration is free.
